Resumen
This thesis work focuses on the study of a class of semiconductors, the lead halide ABX3 perovskites, in the form of nanocrystals. In particular, a new synthesis approach is presented based on the use of porous matrices, in the form of thin films, composed of metal oxide nanoparticles. This templated method allows for control of the size of perovskite nanocrystals in the quantum confinement regime. The uniqueness of this type of composite materials, so prepared, has allowed an advanced fundamental study of the optoelectronic properties of perovskite nanocrystals. More precisely, the work of this thesis has been focused on the linear optical response (e.g. emission, absorption), non-linear properties (third harmonic generation), but also the influence of lattice dynamics and the analysis of nanocrystal growth. This investigation brings relevant information for the optimization of perovskite nanocrystal based technology. Finally, this work also demonstrates and effective integration of the templated synthesis, in the fabrication of optoelectronic devices for photovoltaic and lighting applications.
