Since 2008, the Royal Spanish Physics Society-BBVA Foundation Physics Awards have annually recognized creativity, effort and achievement in the field of physics, with the aim of serving as an incentive for professionals who carry out their work in research, secondary and university education, innovation, technology and dissemination. The winners of the 2024 edition and the composition of the juries are presented below.
Young Researcher Award in Experimental Physics:
Miguel Anaya Martín, Ramón y Cajal Condensed Matter Researcher at the Institute of Materials Sciences of Seville – CSIC, the University of Seville and Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, for his outstanding contributions in the field of optoelectronic materials. His innovative research has had a major impact on the development of radiation detectors with applications in technologies for the use of solar energy. He has also contributed to the development of emerging low-cost semiconductor devices to achieve more sustainable applications in optoelectronics.
