On February 27, at 10:00 a.m., the founding meeting of the Sustainability Committee, convened by manager María Teresa Zaragoza, was held in the Rotonda Room of cicCartuja 1. This new workspace was created with the aim of promoting initiatives that reduce the environmental impact of the center and promote responsible habits among the entire scientific and administrative community.

Representatives from different institutes and areas of the center attended:

• Rocío López Igual (IBVF)
• José Luis Crespo González (Director IBVF)
• Noureddine Khiar el Wahabi (Director cicCartuja e IIQ)
• María Teresa Zaragoza Benítez (Gerente cicCartuja)
• Juan Pedro Espinós Manzorro (Director ICMS)
• María Prieto Salas (Adjunta a Gerencia)
• Ana María Capelo Montes (Área Administrativa)

During the session, a brainstorming dynamic was carried out with easily applicable proposals to move towards a more sustainable center. Among the ideas raised, the following stand out:

• Replacing plastic bottles with cardboard cups and using fountains.
• Improve vending: healthier and closer products.
• Reorganize trash cans and promote waste recycling.
• Promote the use of digital documentation over printing.
• Use only recycled paper.
• Promote the use of bicycles through the e-city app among those who live in Seville.
• Include environmental awareness messages in emails. Add plants and study creating a vertical garden.
