The ICO Young Researcher Award was created by the International Carbohydrate Organisation (ICO) in 2012 to encourage carbohydrate research by young researchers.
This award is given to a researcher working on a project focused on any aspect of glycochemistry and/or glycobiology.
Javier Ramos, a postdoctoral researcher at the Glycosystems Laboratory of the Institute of Chemical Research, has just been awarded this year with this award. This is not the first award that Javier has received; a few years ago he was already projecting a brilliant career when he was awarded double recognition for his doctoral thesis on carbohydrates.
