Jiménez Solano, NANOMATMOL Award for the best doctoral thesis 2017

The work of Alberto Jiménez Solano has been recognized with the second prize for the best doctoral thesis presented in 2017, awarded by the specialized group of Nanoscience and molecular materials (NanoMatMol) of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) and the Royal Spanish Society of Physics (RSEF).
Alberto Jiménez Solano carried out his doctoral studies at the Institute of Materials Science of Seville, attached to cicCartuja, under the supervision of Prof. Hernán Míguez and Dr. Juan F. Galisteo.
The defense of his thesis was held on June 23, 2017. Entitled, Design of the optical absorption and emission of nanomaterials in controlled photonic environments, it deals with the control of the optical properties of nanomaterials through their integration into photonic structures.
These studies open a new avenue for the development of lighting devices with on-demand properties, as well as for new structures in the field of solar energy.
The award ceremony will take place in 2019 in Zaragoza during the celebration of the XXXVII RSEF Biennial (July 15-19).
