Alberto Palmero Acebedo, a Senior Scientist at the CSIC, at the Institute of Materials Science in Seville, attached to cicCartuja, is one of the 40 foreign researchers selected to spend a stay at a French research centre in order to investigate the development of new technologies for the production of greenhouse gas sensors.
The “Make Our Planet Great Again” programme is promoted by the President of the French Republic and is part of the Plan against climate change, whose objective is to promote actions that help in the fight against global warming.
The researcher will travel to the University of Bourgogne Franche-Comté in Besançon (France) in the coming months together with other specialists in the detection of gases harmful to the environment.
The scientific-technological project will focus on the development of fast-response and low-energy consumption sensors using porous surfaces, with the aim of being able to develop environmental policies for monitoring and controlling emissions of CO2, O3 and different volatile organic compounds (VOCS).
