cicCartuja at the ‘Science Fair in the Street’ in Jerez de la Frontera

The Science Fair in Calle de Jerez (Cádiz) will be held on April 18, 19 and 20.
The Science Fair in Calle de Jerez is a recreational and educational event that aims to communicate to the public the science that is carried out in educational centers, research centers and companies through its main actors (students, teachers and researchers). During the three days that the event lasts and in the morning and afternoon, the different participating entities bring science to the public in a simple, recreational and attractive way, through different exhibitors, in the most central square of Jerez de la Frontera.
In addition, a tent placed in the same area hosts a program of parallel activities that includes: workshops, informative talks, student communications, theater performances, recreational science shows and other activities.
The opening of the Fair will take place in this tent, led by Asunción Fernández, a CSIC researcher at the Institute of Materials Sciences in Seville, who will give a lecture entitled “Carbon dioxide and water together for a sustainable energy future”. Fernández will also address the situation of women in science and the need to disseminate research work to the public.
The CSIC centres: the Institute of Marine Sciences of Andalusia (ICMAN) and the Biological Station of Doñana (EBD), as well as the Museum Casa de la Ciencia, will also participate in this event.
