Awards for the Best Doctoral Theses of the 2015-2016 academic year

Doctors Blas Moreno-Beltrán and Natalia Curado Diánez will receive the Award for the Best Doctoral Theses of the 2015-2016 academic year, which is awarded each year by the Territorial Section of Western Andalusia of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ).

Both researchers have been assigned, respectively, to the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF) and the Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ), joint CSIC-University of Seville centres and belonging to cicCartuja.

Moreno-Beltrán’s thesis is entitled Redox Biointeractome of Cytochromes in Respiration and Photosynthesis and was directed by researchers Miguel Ángel de la Rosa and Irene Díaz, currently belonging to the IIQ.

Curado presented a thesis entitled Synthesis, structure and reactivity of dimolybdenum complexes with multiple metal-metal bonds. Its directors were Celia Maya and Ernesto Carmona, also from the IIQ.

Also awarded with this recognition were Drs. Rocío Gallego Calvo, from the University of Huelva, and Luis Alfonso Trujillo Cayado, from the University of Seville.

The award will be presented at the University of Seville and will include a brief oral presentation by the winners, in which they will share the results of their research with the public.
