The Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS), belonging to cicCartuja, will coordinate the next National Meeting “Science and Surface Technologies: CyTeS 2017”, thanks to a project of the Consolider FUNCOAT+ Network.

CyTeS 2017 will have the support of the CSIC and the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, and will bring together researchers from academic and technological centres and companies, to promote Surface Science and Technologies and, in particular, Nanotechnology at a national level, guaranteeing the exchange and transfer of knowledge between the main actors in Spanish R&D.

This meeting has more than fifty presentations scheduled, in which numerous researchers and technologists from the CSIC will participate, R&D managers from leading national companies in various industrial sectors, universities and technological centres, as well as managers specialised in knowledge transfer from the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) and the CSIC Technology Transfer Office.

Agustín R. González-Elipe and Alberto Palmero, ICMS researchers, together with José María Albella and José Miguel García Martín, will be part of the organizing committee of this event, which will be held at the Institute of Materials Science in Madrid (UAM+CSIC Campus, Cantoblanco), on January 31 and February 1.

CyTeS 2017 is part of the activities carried out by the FUNCOAT+ Consolider Network, which includes researchers, doctors and engineers from the CSIC, as well as hospitals, universities and technological centers and institutes. The members of the Network focus their activity on applications for several sectors of great socioeconomic interest: Nanotechnology, Biomedicine, Metallurgy and renewable energies.
