ICMS offers a Postgraduate Course on Material Surfaces and Thin Films

The Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS) offers a Specialization Course in Materials Science and Technology, called ‘Physical Methods for the Analysis of Thin Films and Surfaces of Solids’. The course aims to familiarize attendees with some of the most commonly used physical analysis methods for the characterization of the surface of materials in general, and of thin films and surfaces in particular.
The intensive training will take place from June 20 to 24 and will be directed by Juan Pedro Espinós Manzorro, Research Professor at the ICMS and member of the Nanotechnology on Surfaces group. The teaching will be given by a large group of specialists with PhDs in physics and chemistry, researchers at the CSIC and professors at the University of Seville.
The course will consist of theoretical classes and practical sessions; the latter will be developed with small groups of students and will be supported by the scientific equipment available at the ICMS and the National Accelerators Center (CNA).
The specialization is aimed primarily at scientists and engineers focused on topics of analysis, diagnosis, surface research, etc., although it is also considered especially suitable for third-cycle students related to the subject matter. Participants who wish to do so may receive a diploma issued by the CSIC Postgraduate Department and must provide proof of the training they have acquired.
The registration period ends on June 10. For more information on tuition fees and scholarships, visit http://www.icms.us-csic.es/capasfinas
