Seven prestigious scientists will meet for two days, on September 3 and 4, 2012, in the auditorium of cicCartuja to encourage the research vocation of young university students interested in biochemistry and molecular biology. Through lectures, open to interaction, scientists will try to motivate the curiosity of students and guide them through the many avenues of study that are open around cyanobacteria, cell therapy or gene expression, to name a few examples.
The Introductory Course in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, coordinated by two cicCartuja researchers, Katiuska González Arzola (IBVF) and Natalia Pérez Hernández (IIQ), will be attended by 15 undergraduate or graduate students interested in pursuing doctoral studies in subjects related to biochemistry and molecular biology. The aim is to limit the number of students to a small group, with the intention of creating a closer relationship between the students and the lecturers.
The scientists participating in this course will be Joan Guinovart (Institute for Research in Biomedicine, IRB Barcelona), Antonia Herrero (Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis, cicCartuja, Seville), Pablo Huertas (Andalusian Center for Molecular Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Seville), José López Barneo (Institute of Biomedicine of Seville, University of Seville), Modesto Orozco (Institute of Biomedical Research, Barcelona), Manuela Pereira (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and José Carlos Reyes (Andalusian Center for Molecular Biology and Regenerative Medicine, Seville).
