Between November 14 and 17, 2011, the Centro de Investigaciones Científicas Isla de la Cartuja (cicCartuja) will open its doors to young students on the occasion of the XI Science and Technology Week. During these days, cicCartuja will try to promote scientific vocation and culture through seven informative talks.
Presentations are scheduled in which the center’s own researchers will talk about the work carried out in the three Institutes: Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF), Institute of Materials Science (ICMS) and Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ). Likewise, the scientists will be in charge of guiding the students in their visit to the facilities to illustrate in a more practical and direct way the work carried out at cicCartuja.

On the other hand, the cicCartuja will celebrate on November 7 the Coffee with Science, an initiative organized together with the Andalusian Foundation for the Dissemination of Innovation and Knowledge (Descubre Foundation) and the Andalusian Society for the Dissemination of Science (SADC), in collaboration with the main centers of research, innovation and dissemination of Andalusia, funded by the FECYT. The action promotes the rapprochement between young people and science professionals in talks on topics of current interest. In this way, students are encouraged to share their concerns and interests with researchers in a close way.
As a complement to these visits, attendees will receive the third edition of the CicCartuja Science Dissemination Notebooks, where the talks given during Science Week are collected.
