The Spanish National Association of Chemists (ANQUE) has agreed to award Gold Medals to Ernesto Carmona, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Seville, and to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) for his contributions to chemistry.
Carmona is endorsed by a golden trajectory of awards that recognize his dedication to chemistry, such as the Maimonides Award for Scientific Research granted by the Junta de Andalucía (1994), the French Society of Chemistry (2004) or the Jaime I Award (2010), just to mention a few. The professor, a member of the Institute of Chemical Research of the cicCartuja, was in charge of inaugurating the 2010-2011 academic year at the University of Seville.
ANQUE will also recognize the work of the CSIC State Agency, created in 2007 as a result of the Law on State Agencies and which confers greater autonomy and management capacity to the Council.
According to ANQUE’s internal regulations, the Gold Medal “may be awarded to a member of the Association whose merits in relation to his or her prestige, dedication and/or management in Chemical Science and Technology or in chemical organizations, so merit. It may also be awarded to any person or entity whose activity benefits chemical professionals or Chemical Science and Technology”.
The awards ceremony will take place on October 29 and 30 in Valencia, coinciding with the National Assembly of this organization.
