Fifteen cicCartuja researchers take part in the Scholarship Holder Workshop

Seville, 28/3/2011. Strengthening the capacity for expression, communication and dissemination of young researchers at the beginning of their scientific career is the main objective of the Scholarship Holder Workshop, a training activity organised by the Isla de la Cartuja Scientific Research Centre (cicCartuja). The workshop, which is divided into two phases, began on 30 March, with theoretical sessions given by renowned lecturers such as Ángela Nieto Toledano, Félix Goñi Urcelay, Carlos Gómez-Moreno Calera, Vicente Rubio Zamora, Miguel Ángel de la Rosa Acosta and Ernesto Carmona Guzmán. These will be followed by a practical period, starting on 31 May, in which participants in the Scholarship Holder Workshop will develop specific skills, such as how to write a scientific article, how to prepare a research project, how to write a grant application or how to prepare an oral presentation.
These exercises will be supervised by different professors, who will supervise the work and give the students guidelines to follow. The Scholarship Holder’s Workshop has been designed as a personalised training activity, in which the interaction between teacher and student is prioritised. For this reason, the number of participants has been limited to fifteen PhD students or researchers who completed their postgraduate studies less than a year ago.
