As a member of the executive committee and leader of the working group for the promotion of young scientists’ careers, his intention is to continue developing activities aimed at young researchers, in order to improve not only their scientific-technical skills but also those transversal skills that they can apply in various work environments: communication, dissemination, management and leadership.
The main task of the working group he leads is the organization of the FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum, a satellite activity that takes place every year just before the FEBS Congress. His responsibility is to ensure the positioning of this event as one of the best forums for establishing synergies and strengthening working relationships between molecular biologists who are in the early stages of their professional careers in Europe.
About FEBS
FEBS is the acronym in English for the Federation of European Biochemical Societies. The federation was founded on January 1, 1964, and since then it has been consolidating itself as one of the largest organizations in the field of life sciences at a European level. FEBS has more than 35,000 members in more than 35 national societies of biochemistry and molecular biology in European and neighbouring countries. As a grassroots organisation, FEBS gives voice to a large part of the academic and research community within and outside Europe.
As a non-profit organisation, FEBS promotes biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, molecular biophysics and related disciplines through its journals, conferences, advanced courses, scholarships and other initiatives. It also organises numerous programmes for scientific exchange and cooperation between researchers working in different countries, as well as supporting the training of young scientists.
