The magazine ‘Cartuja Innova’ highlights studies by Dh. Agustín Rodríguez González-Elipe (ICMS)

The transformation of the aesthetic design of materials such as polypropylene or ceramics, through surface engineering, has become one of the main avenues of research at the Institute of Materials Sciences of Seville (ICMS). Specifically, the group led by Professor Agustín Rodríguez González-Elipe has set out to develop various methods to change the appearance of materials and give them new functions or properties, such as hardness, hydrophilicity or oiliness. In doing so, they aim to give added value to materials that are in great demand in the market, but look unattractive.

The magazine ‘Cartuja Innova’ has dealt with this ICMS research project, called ‘Artdecó’, in its 43rd issue, corresponding to the months of September-December 2009.
