cicCartuja signs an agreement with Cartuja 93 to disseminate scientific-technical research

Seville, 21/12/2010. The Director of the Scientific Research Center Isla de la Cartuja (cicCartuja), Miguel Angel de la Rosa Acosta, and the President of Cartuja 93, Isaías Pérez Saldaña, met this morning to sign a collaboration agreement between the two institutions they represent. Through this agreement, both entities are committed to carry out various activities aimed at disseminating scientific and technical research among the companies and societies that make up the Cartuja Science and Technology Park and its surroundings.

Among the activities programmed in this agreement is the organization of two working breakfasts, which will take place at the facilities of Cartuja 93, in the Centro de Empresas Pabellón de Italia, in January 2011. At these meetings, research groups from cicCartuja and Cartuja 93 will present their projects and lines of study to a dozen companies, with the aim of seeking future alliances or collaborations.
The second activity that arises from the signing of this agreement is the call for the ‘cicCartuja Award’, which aims to promote scientific research, as well as to recognize and disseminate the merits accumulated by scientists during their careers. The ‘cicCartuja Award’ will promote the best work published during 2010 by a cicCartuja researcher under 31 years of age. The endowment of this prize, in its first four editions, comes from the donation made by Antonio Hernández Callejas, Chairman of Ebro Foods and winner of the 1st Prize of the Confederation of Employers of Seville-Seville University Social Council.

Both institutions, cicCartuja and Cartuja 93, jointly assume the organization of the planned actions, with the possible collaboration of other agents. To carry out these tasks, a Joint Commission will be created to monitor and evaluate the development of the projects.
