The Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS) will be present at the first edition of the International Congress “Cultural and natural heritage as an engine of development: research and innovation”, which takes place in Jaen on 26, 27 and 28 January 2011. The communication with which they will participate in the Congress, whose signatories are currently members of the Thematic Network of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the CSIC, analyzes the “Characterization and State of conservation of mural paintings of the XV-XVI centuries”. These works have involved professionals of the Fine Arts of the University of Seville, University of Extremadura and University of Malaga (CSIC Associated Unit) and the School of Artisan Training “Della Robbia” of Gelves, Seville.
The symposium, which was created with the aim of becoming a forum for knowledge and the promotion of new ideas that favor the progress of heritage, is structured around four main themes: guardianship and management, knowledge, valuation and dissemination, new technologies and conservation and restoration.
