The conference ‘Exploring beyond the shore: a Trans-Atlantic Meeting on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology’, organised by the Spanish Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and its counterparts in Morocco and Portugal and under the auspices of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) and the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), will be held from 24 to 26 May 2011.
On this occasion, the seven Presidents of the National Societies of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Portugal, Morocco and Spain will take part in seven symposia, one each, with the aim of presenting a global perspective of the latest developments in biochemistry and molecular biology in their respective countries.
In addition to facilitating the coordination of the 22nd IUBMB International Congress of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology & 37th FEBS Congress in September 2012, the activity also encourages the participation of the best scientists from both sides of the Atlantic and reserves a space for young independent researchers with the invitation of two representatives per country.
The Meeting of Presidents of Ibero-American Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Societies promoting the ‘22nd IUBMB International Congress of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology & 37th FEBS Congress’ will have an important impact on the international projection of Andalusian science, as Seville will serve as a stage for the sharing of the most outstanding scientific activity in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology on both sides of the Atlantic.
