For the fourth consecutive year, the Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS) is organising the course ‘Determination of structures in real solids: nuclear magnetic resonance technique’. Divided into theoretical and practical sessions, these academic sessions will aim to introduce postgraduate students to the basic principles of nuclear magnetic resonance, a tool which, when applied to real solids, is one of the technical fields of greatest interest in science today, as its results can be useful in different lines of research.
The course ‘Structure determination in real solids’, which will be held at the cicCartuja facilities between 5 and 8 September 2011, has already opened its pre-registration period. Applications for participation in this activity, which will feature renowned experts in the field, can be submitted until 15 June. As usual, this course will have at its disposal the cicCartuja spectroscopy equipment to carry out the practical sessions, as well as the appropriate computer programmes to mathematically process the data obtained in the tests. In order to get the most out of the use of these instruments, the number of students enrolled will be reduced to 16, who will be assigned different tutors to coordinate their studies.
