The registration period for the course “Application of Synchrotron Radiation to the Characterization of Materials”, organized by the Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS), with the sponsorship of the CSIC, the University of Seville and the Regional Government of Andalusia, will be open until September 30. This academic activity aims to provide an overview of the techniques most commonly used in the analysis of solids and is aimed especially at university students of physics, chemistry, materials science or engineering, as well as scientists and engineers in general, who wish to begin or broaden their knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of the application of synchrotron radiation, materials analysis or solid state research.
The course, which will be directed by Doctors Adela Muñoz Páez and Alfonso Caballero Martínez, already has considerable experience in training related to synchrotron radiation sources since it began to be given in 1994. The maximum number of attendees will be 30 people, in order to ensure, with a small group, a greater interaction between faculty and students. The course will be held between October 19 and 21, 2011.
