On February 6, more than forty people, including researchers, technicians and administrative personnel, visited the Airbus Military facilities in the San Pablo Industrial Park in Seville for a guided tour of the aeronautical company’s plant. This activity, in which participated the personnel involved in the cicCartuja’s informative actions in 2011, allowed to know in depth the plant of the Airbus subsidiary, Airbus Military, world leader in the market of military transport, supply and surveillance aircrafts.
The facilities visited yesterday morning are the production and final assembly plant for the C212, CN235 and C295 aircraft in a new complex, annexed to the final assembly line of the Airbus 400M, inaugurated in 2007. All these aircraft could be seen during the tour, which ended at the Airbus flagship plant: the A400M, an example of high technology involving the management of six European Union member countries (France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom and Spain), Turkey and Malaysia. This aircraft, considered the most versatile currently available, has been meeting the needs of the armed forces on the international scene since 2003, performing tactical, strategic-logistic and refueling missions.
