Nanotechnology, the star of the 2014 Ebro Foods cicCartuja Award

Seville, April 10, 2015. Manuel Macías, from the Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS), receives the award for his work in which he synthesizes a new material in the form of a nanocable that acts as an optical fiber 10,000 times smaller than the current ones.

María Isabel Ortiz, from the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF), receives the first prize for her discovery of the interconnection between flowering and starch metabolism in plants.

Mohyeddin Assali, from the Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ), receives the second prize for his work in the generation of functional glyconanomaterials in the field of nanomedicine.
