Rosa Pereñíguez Rodríguez, a researcher at the Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS) belonging to cicCartuja, has been awarded one of the two Young Researcher Awards given each year by the Real Maestranza de Caballería Foundation.
The studies carried out by this young scientist focus on the preparation and characterisation of nanostructured catalytic materials, applied to environmental decontamination and the search for alternative sources of energy, for example, through the production of hydrogen using perovskite-based systems.
Rosa has a PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Seville and works as a researcher in the group “Materials and Catalytic Processes of Environmental and Energy Interest” at the ICMS. In addition, she combines this work with her teaching activity in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Seville.
The Real Maestranza Young Researcher Awards are presented in collaboration with the Royal Seville Academy of Sciences and are worth 6,000 euros. Their purpose is to reward each year the scientific merits of outstanding young researchers and stimulate their vocation and dedication to science.
