Seville, June 10, 2016. A group of 26 secondary school students from the San Antonio María Claret School in Seville visited the facilities of the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF) and the Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ) this morning.
During the visit, the students were able to see first-hand, thanks to the explanations of the Center’s professionals, the day-to-day work in a laboratory, as well as the safety measures used during the experiments.
The students from the Claret School were very interested in all the activities and demonstrations, especially in the use of some instruments and certain chemical compounds, such as liquid nitrogen.
Visits like this are part of the actions to popularize research, which help to foster a scientific vocation among the youngest and to promote interest in science among society in general.
