Seville, November 16, 2016. Alejandra Guerra Castellano, member of the Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ) —attached to the Isla de la Cartuja Scientific Research Center— has been awarded twice at the XIII Symposium of Young Researchers of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry, held in Logroño from November 8 to 11.
The excellence of her curriculum has earned this scientist the Young Chemical Researchers Scholarship, more specifically in the ‘Pre-Doctoral Researchers’ section. In addition, Guerra has also been awarded the Best Oral Communication Award, for her brilliant presentation at the conference Mimicking Tyrosine Phosphorylation in Human Cytochrome c by the Evolved tRNA Synthetase Technique. This work is based on an article of the same name that was published in 2015 in the journal Chemistry: A European Journal.
Since its first edition in 2004, the main objectives of the Young Researchers Symposium are to promote the dissemination of research carried out by the new generations of chemists, as well as to establish links between young scientists and to foster the interdisciplinary nature of 21st century chemistry.
The symposium also covers everything from basic research in chemistry to the latest applications at an industrial and social level, being an enriching opportunity for chemical researchers from both sectors.
