Seville, March 16, 2017. The Seville City Council has today awarded Miguel Anaya Martín the 2016 Young Prize for Scientific Culture, in the category of Awards for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Researchers without a PhD in the field of Experimental Sciences. The financial endowment of the Young Prize for Scientific Culture is 4000 euros. The purpose of this award is to promote the scientific activity of young researchers, as well as to spread excellence in science.
The scientist has focused his research on the design of optoelectronic devices based on perovskites. His studies range from the characterization of the fundamental optical properties of ABX3 materials, to the manufacture of devices in which different optical structures are integrated to give the perovskite new attributes.
The list of achievements of this young researcher continues to grow, since the University of Seville awarded him the Prize for Research Papers of Special Relevance 2016 in the science branch on March 2. His article Highly Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells with Tunable Structural Color, published in the journal Nano Letters, was selected for the relevant position of the journal in its area and for its high impact factor. In addition to this recognition, Anaya was awarded a scholarship last year by the International Society of Optics and Photonics, and this year he has won the cicCartuja – Ebro Foods Award, which will be presented to him on April 28 in a ceremony that will take place at the cicCartuja.
