The CARTRIB network brings together prestigious experts from different countries (United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Russia, Ukraine and Spain) and research areas (engineering, materials science, mathematics, biophysics, tribology, physical chemistry, etc.) in order to achieve new advances in the field of carbon-based coatings.
Under the direction of Cardiff University and Professor Feodor Borodich, the Institute of Materials Science of Seville, part of cicCartuja, participates in the consortium in the person of the researcher Juan Carlos Sánchez López, who is responsible for the organization of the workshop.
The event is funded by the Leverhulme Trust Foundation in collaboration with the University of Seville and the CSIC, and will take place in the “Celestino Mutis” building at CITIUS, in Seville, from 19 to 21 April 2017.
Workshop
In order to benefit from this multidisciplinary approach, the CARTRIB network organises annual thematic workshops to exchange achievements and research.
The exchange between delegates will cover aspects ranging from the development of theoretical models on adhesion, friction and wear processes, to the establishment of correlations between microstructure, chemical composition and specific properties. Of particular interest will be the presentations on bio-inspired materials whose properties mimic those of living beings.
