Seville, 6 September 2017. The Isla de la Cartuja Scientific Research Centre (cicCartuja) – a joint CSIC-US organisation – has received today a visit from representatives of the European Commission, in order to assess the progress of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellows assigned to the centre.
In addition to the cicCartuja Management and Project Office staff, the meeting was attended by Alfonso Caballero, director of the Seville Institute of Materials Science (ICMS), as well as the fellowship researchers: Juan Ramón Sánchez Valencia (ICMS), Dongling Geng (ICMS) and Emilio Gutiérrez Beltrán, member of the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF), accompanied by their project tutors Hernán Míguez (ICMS), Ángel Barranco (ICMS) and José Luis Crespo (IBVF).
During the meeting, the grant-winning researchers and their supervisors had the opportunity to present their projects, as well as to outline their progress and future expectations.
For their part, the manager of cicCartuja, María Pozas, and the head of the Project Office, Belén López, explained to the officers the entire process of requesting, obtaining and managing European projects that is followed at the centre.
After the meeting, the representatives of the Commission visited the facilities of cicCartuja, accompanied by the researchers.
