El cicCartuja and future scientists at the 16th Science Fair

The cicCartuja will present the sixth edition of the Future Scientists Award next Friday, May 4 at 1:30 p.m. in the STEM+A space of the Seville Exhibition and Congress Palace (FIBES) during the XVI Science Fair.

The award has the general objective of fostering scientific vocations and promoting the interest of students in research and, specifically, to highlight talented young people, their teachers and their centers, making their achievements known and encouraging them to continue with their participation in the field of science and technology.

The Future Scientists Award is endowed with €500 for the best scientific dissemination project presented at the Fair stands, in addition, two second prizes of €250 will be awarded. Students will also be invited to present their projects to cicCartuja researchers and the general public at the Future Scientists Conference, which will be held during Science Week in November 2018.

The jury that will decide the award is made up of four prestigious researchers from cicCartuja. In this year’s edition, they are Gisela M. Arzac Di Tomaso, from the Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS), José María Ortega, from the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF) and Juan Manuel Benito, from the Institute of Chemical Research (IIQ). Likewise, the director of cicCartuja, F. Javier Rojo Marcos, will also participate in the decision. All of them will visit the stands and evaluate the projects presented by the Secondary and High School centers.
