Last May 2022, the new Agreement that regulates the operation and organization of the Isla de la Cartuja Scientific Research Center was signed. This Agreement has been prepared by the three co-owner institutions of the center: the Junta de Andalucía, the State Agency Higher Council for Scientific Research and the University of Seville.

This new Agreement replaces the first one signed in 1996 and which was the origin of the center.

The signing of the regulations that develop this new agreement is still pending and is still being prepared.
