On October 3, the president of the CSIC, Ms. Eloisa del Pino, visited the Isla de la Cartuja Scientific Research Center, accompanied by the Vice President for Organization and Institutional Relations, Mr. Carlos Closa, the Institutional Delegate, Ms. Margarita Paneque, and other members of her management team.
The president met with the director and manager of cicCartuja and with the directors of the three institutes that make up the center: the Institute of Chemical Research, the Institute of Materials Science of Seville, and the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis. After being informed of their situation and the main problems that exist for the development of research activity, the president reported on the main challenges that the new management team of the CSIC has set itself and the lines of action that are being developed to improve the functioning of the institution.
Afterwards, a meeting with all the staff of the centre took place in the assembly hall, where she answered questions from those attending.
Afterwards, after signing the guest book, the president visited several laboratories of the centre, where she was informed of several projects that are currently being developed. She also had the opportunity to see the equipment of the IIQ chemical library, which is part of the CSIC chemical library, a project included in the Interdisciplinary Thematic Platform for Global Health (PTI+ Global Health).
