The internal symposium of the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (IBVF Symposium 2023) took place in cicCartuja on June 29 and 30. Within the framework of these biannual conferences, the groups that make up the IBVF have presented the most relevant results of the projects they develop in the study of photosynthetic organisms, from cyanobacteria and microalgae to plants.

The studies carried out in these systems allow us to understand how plants and microorganisms interact and respond to the environment to improve plant adaptation and sustainability, as well as the use of solar energy in the remediation of climate change and the production of compounds of interest and biofertilizers.

In this edition, inaugurated and closed by José Luis Crespo, Director of the IBVF, more than 40 oral communications and posters have been presented, with the participation of both staff scientists and researchers in training and technicians responsible for the scientific services of the Institute. The dissemination activities developed by the IBVF were also presented, aimed at informing the general public about the progress of ongoing research.
