Café con Ciencia
As part of the activities scheduled for Science and Technology Week 2023, cicCartuja is participating in Café con Ciencia, which will be held on Tuesday, November 7. This activity is organized by the Fundación Descubre and is promoted in Seville by cicCartuja, the CSIC-Casa de la Ciencia de Sevilla, the University of Seville and the SADC (Andalusian Society for the Dissemination of Science).
It is a space for researcher-student interaction, created to chat in a relaxed and colloquial way about scientific topics of interest. In this activity, which is held on a specific day simultaneously throughout Andalusia, high school students have the opportunity to have coffee (or breakfast) with a scientist and ask them all the questions they want. The tables last one hour and about 15 guests can participate in each one. The ultimate goal is to establish a meeting point between high school students and researchers so that they can reflect together on various topics in a friendly and participatory environment.

cicCartuja Future Scientists Conference
Every year, cicCartuja awards the “Future Scientists” prizes to the best projects presented at the Seville Science Fair held in May.
The winners, in addition to receiving a cash prize, are invited to visit our center and present their projects during Science Week. This year the conference will be held on Thursday, November 9, and the winners have been:

• Second runner-up: “Technology at your fingertips”, from IES Ciudad Jardín, Seville
• First runner-up: “And life goes on…”. IES Torre de los Guzmanes, Seville
• First prize: “TV and Youtube: in search of new research”, IES Martín Rivero, Ronda; and IES Gran Capitán, Córdoba.
