The cicCartuja Ebro Foods 2022 Awards Ceremony has been held

This year, a first prize was awarded to Javier Castillo Seoane from the Institute of Materials Science.

In addition, a first prize was awarded to Pedro de los Reyes Rodríguez, from the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis, and two second prizes ex aequo were awarded to Helena Corona García de Leaniz and Marina Pérez Jiménez, both from the Institute of Chemical Research.

These awards recognise the work carried out by young researchers under 31 years of age who have previously published scientific articles in prestigious international journals related to areas such as Chemistry, Biochemistry or Materials Science. The award ceremony took place last Friday, 15 December, in the auditorium of the Isla de la Cartuja Scientific Research Centre (cicCartuja).

The event was attended by authorities from the world of science and the university environment, as well as from industry and local, regional and national politics. Among them, Álvaro Jesús Pimentel, Third Deputy Mayor of Seville; Lorena Garrido, Deputy Minister of University Research and Innovation of the Junta de Andalucía; Jaime Carvajal, Deputy Vice President of Scientific Programming of the Higher Council for Scientific Research; Jesús Cintas, Director of the Secretariat of Research Centers, Institutes and Services of the University of Seville and of course Antonio Hernández Callejas, President of Ebro Foods.
