Laura Pastor Pérez, ICMS researcher and professor in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, has received the Young Researcher Award from the Royal Seville Academy of Sciences.
Laura holds a PhD in materials science from the University of Alicante and after a long postdoctoral period in the United Kingdom, she joined the ICMS as leader of a young researcher project for the ministry. Her work focuses on the development of advanced catalysts for the environment and energy. In particular, she works intensively in the field of CO2 and biogas conversion, hydrogen production and new generation of biofuels. The award from the Royal Seville Academy of Sciences has recognized Laura’s work in the development of new highly efficient catalysts in processes for converting biomass and biowaste into value-added compounds, representing a breakthrough in decarbonization technologies.
