EWBC 2024 Sevilla

International Conference on Cyanobacteria in Seville (September 3-6, 2024)

Researchers from the Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis (CSIC-University of Seville), together with a researcher from the University of Zaragoza, are organizing the twelfth edition of the European Workshop on the Biology of Cyanobacteria (EWBC), which will take place from September 3 to 6 in Seville and will be attended by 250 researchers from Europe, America, Asia and Oceania. More details about the conference can be found at the following link: https://ewbcsevilla2024.org.
Cyanobacteria are the organisms in which oxygenic photosynthesis evolved, which transformed the Earth allowing the development of life as we know it, with obvious manifestations such as plants and animals. The Institute of Plant Biochemistry and Photosynthesis introduced the study of cyanobacteria in Seville in the 1970s, and has since become an international reference research centre on these organisms; in fact, researchers from this Institute already organised the third conference of this series in Seville with notable success in 1995.
